Have lived here for about a year now and we enjoy being in one of the few relatively pet-friendly apartments in the area. That said, we have a woman in building 801 who constantly harasses people who let their dogs play in the enclosed courtyards. These are not "designated off-leash areas" but since there are none of those around common sense dictates that it's a reasonable compromise. Nevertheless she has become a problem and my wife and I will probably consider moving soon if she continues.

It is the law in Arlington County to have your animal on a leash at all times. There is no reasonable compromise.

Give the lady a break. She may have a fear of dogs. She is not "harassing", she is requesting that you follow the law and the apartment rule.

Since when do you think you are above the law. Sounds like you need to pack your bags and leave. I hope the lady continues harassing you. You demonstrate no respect to the laws and her! And shame on management for not evicting you!

I completely agree with everyone. Not every dog is friendly and having a bunch of dogs off the leash can be a very anxiety-inducing situation. There are also dogs that are not comfortable with other dogs...you have your dog off the leash and they get in a dog's face, yes they can get bitten. YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO CONTROL YOUR DOG AT ALL TIMES. go to a dog park, it's really not that hard.
