Sigh. What can I say about Taylor Place aka The Whitmore'
First of all, it's too expensive for what it's worth. The location is decent, but there's better places around, at a comparable price.
PARKING: If you get home past 8-9pm on a weeknight, forget about finding a decent parking space. Not only has my shiny, new car gotten more scratches on it from parking in the tiny spaces, you do not get your own assigned parking space. And let's not forget to mention the break ins, and the hit and run accidents. They're not common, but there's really nothing the management is doing for the situation. And in the winter months, THANKS MANAGEMENT (!!!) for making sure the residents didn't slip and almost die walking in the parking lot. You do not even know how many times I almost slipped and fell, almost hurting myself.
Noise: You can hear everything. EVERYTHING. From outside the hallway, from upstairs, downstairs, etc. You get it. The hallways look like you're walking around in the hotel in "The Shining"-that's not important. Just something I noticed.
Construction: This is true that the renovations may LOOK nice at a glance, but it's actually poorly constructed. I was locked out of my own apartment several times, because of the cheap door handle that refused to open.
Maintenance: Eh, what can I say. They seem to address issues pretty quickly, i don't have an issue with them.
Staff: I like the front desk staff. They're very friendly, and quick to help.
My biggest issue...MICE!!! I do not need to say anymore. If you are fine with living with rodents, then YOU have an issue. Mice. Yes, mice!!!! And what do they do' Glue traps' Really' Don't they understand how quickly they reproduce' Reading some of the other posts, I didn't know they pretty much kicked out the residents prior to renovating. I would HAPPILY evacuate my apartment if they decided to actually get an exterminator in here.

I have experienced mice here as well...and so true about the hallways looking like something out of the "The Shinning"...they looked even more that way before they finished renovating the hallways.
Tip though for getting rid of the mice: Have maintenance find the holes behind your kitchen appliances (believe me, this is where the mice are coming from) and fill them first with steel wool (mice can't chew through it) and then filled in with this cauling foam they use. Since having this done in our apartment we haven't seen another mouse and we still kept the glue traps as a precaution and have seen nothing in a few weeks after seeing them pretty much everyday for a month before that....

So true!!! I swear I can here the upstairs resident putting down the toilet seat sometimes. Also the hallways do remind of that movie as well. And don't forget to mention the century year old air conditioning system. Lets just say the coolest your apartment is about 78-80 degrees. Yeah it doesn't work for Sh_t!

"I swear I can here the upstairs resident putting down the toilet seat sometimes." TOO FUNNY! Regarding the hallways, I'll have to say they do look better than they did when I lived there last year (that's the only nice thing I'll say). About the air conditioning, don't expect your apartment to get under about 75 degrees. And HOPE TO GOD the air doesnt go out for a Weekend or even an entire week (as it did last July during a heat wave. Of course they dont work on "non emergencies" during weekends so nothing was done about it till Monday.

That loud a/c..How could I forget to mention that?? I have to blast my tv to hear over that god awful thing.
Again, I am more concerned with the pest situation. I feel like I live in the slums.
