I have to write a review because of the schmuck below me (From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 9/6/2006 Years at this apartment: 2005-2006) that wrote a misleading review on the apartments. I lived in the building for 2 years (2005-2007) and was very pleased given the cost of my rent. First of all this building used to be an old-folks home, hence the larger than normal number of old people living in the building. However, as the old people pass away, new young college graduates move in. Price I paid $1695/month for a two bedroom (1100sq.ft) with a balcony. That included cable, gas, electric, parking. You cannot come close to that in the surrounding area. Some places have rent that is way more than that plus you pay for utilities and you pay for an extra car for a two-bedroom place. The building is in good shape considering it was built in 1963! There is no flare or fancy lobbies or any of that crap. It s a no nonsense not trying to be something it s not apartment. Parking This place has the biggest outside parking lot in all of Arlington for apartments, not to mention it s free. If you have a nice car, there are plenty of spots that have vacant spots next to them. All the idiots like to clutter up the front half of the lot leaving the back of it open. Anonymous got the door dings he deserved. In the two years I lived there I had a car in a spot next to me about 30 days out of 730 days I lived there. Visitor Parking The policy on visitor parking sucks now because they cracked down on cars staying too long. You can park there between the hours of 1000-2200; anything outside of those hours requires a pass, which is $5 (that is common among all apartments there). Clientele Right now it s a mix between young college grads and old people. I prefer the old people because they are quiet. I think it s wrong that the reviewer below me referred to Al as the insane fat man who harasses everyone The guy has nobody to talk to, his mom pays his rent and he has Parkinson s disease. The one thing I agree on Anonymous with is the office staffing. The lady at the desk can be a prickly ----- at times, but with some due diligence you won t have a problem getting in touch with her. Pool - The pool was managed by Dessie this past summer and it was always clean and the hot tub was working. Apartment Unit They did have a roach problem that was taken care of and since then I never saw another bug. I have no idea about Anonymous, but I never saw or heard rats. Unless rats sound like a 200lb woman wearing heals in the unit above me, then I guess I did hear rats. Security I never used my dead bolt because that area is so safe. They building s main doors are always locked and only opened by key card. The dirty bum (Why did Anonymous write dirty homeless people' Is there such a thing as clean homeless people') you saw making a campsite in the lobby was probably me. I would stumble in from a long night of drinking from all the bars that are walking distance and collapse on the lobby couch, sorry to scare you. I even slept in the hallway once, that s how safe it is. Most of the bums live at the library which is next door. I heard more fire trucks going to the library than the apartment, it s not the apartment s fire system.
So, for $400-500 less than what you would pay at any of the surrounding places, this place is perfect for the recent college grad.

Um, no. The manager's office, which is supposedly staffed by at least 2 people (who were raised in culture where "customer service" is non-existent), is technically open 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Good luck finding it open ! , & then good luck not leaving the encounter angry. (I'd griped to friends, who thought I was exaggerating, until they passed the mgr. reaming out! a potential! tenant, in the middle of the lobby. The insane fat man truly is insane--he has schizophrenia--the tremor is a side effect of the meds. He does harass women, & seems to spend most of his time (even the middle of the night) in the lobby, staring at anyone visible. -The hot tub should be called the lukewarm tub, and parents use it as a kiddie pool for their toddlers. By the middle of the summer you can *smell* the urine while just standing beside it. The regular pool isn't filled until shortly before it opens, is in partial shade, so is freezing-cold for at least a month. That would be ok for a vigorous swim for exercise, but it's too small for that, unless one really likes to practice racing turns. It also tends to get taken over by little kids, and the shrieks come right into the apts on that side of the bldg. Rents leapt this year--still low for the very convenient area, but not cheap. The apts. are very large, compared to new ones, with high ceilings, good space, but the constant-draw ducts have not been cleaned in (an old tenant told me) at least 25 years, so they are totally clogged w/ what looks like dryer lint, and with only tiny windows that open, set into the large ones, it's impossible to get decent ventilation. They did seem to get the roach problem under control, and I never have heard anyone mention rats here (tho there are rat-bait dispensers outside so who knows?) So basically, choose your poison. For me, if they don't do something about the management & the ventilation, I'm out of here.

I have to agree with the person above. It is 0ct 1 2009 and the crazy man is still harrassing. I'm sorry that he is slow but that does not permit him staring me down - alone - when I am making my way from the lobby to outside EVERY SINGLE DAY!! And it doesn't matter what time either - 5:30 am or 10:30 pm. He is always there! It is a shame that he has no one to talk to but i don't care - being a small single female I feel very uncomfortable when he stares and even a little frightened when he comes toward me when there is no one else around and talks to me!! Just becuase he has issues does not mean everyone else in the building needs to worry every time they leave or come home if the crazy man will be waiting and staring in the lobby. This is my biggest complaiont with this place and ultimately will be the reason I leave!
