We rent from owners of a condo unit and love it. They are beautiful places inside and we have never had a problem. The pool is great and open for quite a few hours. It's always clean. People are very respectful here. I'm lucky to have a place on a corner on the top floor - basically I have no one sharing walls and no one above me so I'm not sure how the sound is if you live directly next to someone.
I have a few cons, but honestly none are awful - I still love the place overall, but I want to give an honest pro and con list.
The only problem is that the management office is open from 8-5 which is a problem for people who work. They are also open on Saturdays (albeit only for a few hours) which is helpful, but it's still not ideal.
The wiring is definitely weird - I've had the same problem as another person described with only certain things working when it storms. Something almost always goes out when it storms.
If the fire alarm goes off (I've only had it gone off once in the year I've been here, but it was at 11 pm) it is REALLY loud in your apartment because they have the loud boxes in each place. It pierced our ears (and our poor dog's) for over an hour. Not cool.
