Just say no to W&L

The first thing you'll love about this complex is the rent. Keep this in mind when looking at those numbers: You get what you pay for.
When my parents recently visited my apartments for the first time they commented on the kitchens having the same exact fixtures as they did when their friend lived there. That was 1970. The only thing that was different was the refrigerator, which can be described as "Economy" at best. Good luck fitting a 2 liter of soda on those shelfs. The cabinets in the kitchen have more than likely been painted a good 40 or 50 times since the apartment was built. Not a single bit of that paint has ever been removed. Good luck closing your cabinets.
The floors. You are expected to provide 80% carpeting in the apartment - this means everywhere but the kitchen and the bathroom. This is just plain wrong. Why on earthy can't they carpet the god damn apartments if they require every tenant to get wall to wall' You CAN get away with not getting your carpeting. They do a once a year inspection and tell you to cover the floor. You say "ok" and then its over. They don't come back.
Guests are supposed to only sleep over 14 times a year. They have no way of enforcing this. My girlfriend has been living with me for months and she is not on the lease. They have done nothing about this.
Parking is a hassle. You will never find a spot near your apartment after 7:00 pm. You also risk getting towed if your vehicle doesn't display current county or state stickers. Guests can only park on the lot from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. There is no where else for them to park within walking distance. Don't expect to have parties or guests unless you plan on doing the driving.
The community as a whole isn't that bad. People are pretty friendly. That's all I have on that subject.
Maintenence is good. They usually respond to my calls and they don't rat you out when they see that you are breaking the rules of the complex.
Heating and Air Conditioning suck. Don't expect to be comfortable. Ever.
Washers & dryers are located in specific parts of the complexes and they only have 5 of each machine. You are better off finding somewhere else to do you laundry. They are the smallest washing machines I have ever seen, and they cost $1.25 per load. Most of the machines are broken, and they are never marked as such. The dryers are pretty bad too. They also cost $1.25 a load. Good luck getting dry clothes. As far as clothing theft goes, I have never had that problem.
I have never had a bug problem. I have never seen a mouse. My neighbor on the other hand has issues with rodents and roaches since day one. I really think that it depends on the apartment.
The rental office will not hold delivered packages for you, and they are only open during normal business hours, so getting ahold of them while you have a 9-5 job must be done on the phone.
There was one instance where the folks in the management office were nice to me. They accepted my gratitude like it was rare, and after reading the comments on this site I can see why.
