Bad yes, but worth it for the price

I've lived here for three years and I'm totally not going to disagree about bitchy apartment managers. I haven't had mice in my ground floor apartment (but I have two cats) and yes, there are some roaches but they're tolerable to me and you usually only see one here and there. They're getting much better about spraying every three months.
There's a time and a place to live in the W&L, if you are in graduate school, or just going through a transitional period (maybe your first move to DC), because of it's super-cheap rent and decent sized apartments, it can be good place to be for a year until you make enough money to afford a place of your own. I saw much worse places that require living with more roommates and smaller rooms.
It sucks that Sandra's attitude is so horrible but the truth is, if you follow the rules, mostly they leave you alone. They do maintaince quickly and it's safe, plus you can have your cat(s) without deposit. They have a poor attitude but that's the trade off for such cheap rent for the size of the apartment.
