No more than a year

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
My year in Washington Lee Apartments had its up and downs.
The mangement is very unfriendly, but as a previous poster said, can be sweetened up. If you take the time to be nice to them, they will be more receptive to your needs.
We not only had a roach problem, but a mouse problem as well. The first mouse we saw was tiny and adorable so we caught it and let it go outside. The front office said they only use 'glue traps' which are severaly inhumane so we decided not to report it. When we cleaned our kitchen cupboards out when we were getting ready to move, we found a family of mice living at the bottom. When we moved our living room couch, there was TONS of mouse poop on the carpet and between the couch cushions, which means we'd be living with them for months without our knowledge.
Parking with a pain- I think we were allowed 2 guest passes a month. We rarely had people over because they had to search for parking blocks away and walk to our apartment.
I had the larger bedroom (without the window box). Like a previous poster said, there was a week or two in August when it was absolutely unbearable to sleep in the bedroom. I couldn't tell if it was cooler to have the windows wide open or hope that the living room windown unit would somehow reach my room.
On a positive note, maintanance is fantastic. They generally come the day after a problem is reported and are always super friendly. They were always walking around the complex and by the end of the year, I feel like I got to know them.
Also, it's cheap and it's easy. By easy I mean you only had to pay rent. No separate bills except cable. When things break, they fix it.
Basically, it's liveable for a year, but if you can afford it, move elsewhere.
