The prices at Washington & Lee are quite low for the Arlington area. The apartments are not posh, but they are very livable, especially if you plan to live here for only a couple of years. It might be a bit rough to raise a family here, but many are doing.

Other apartments of comparable price in NoVa are usually very run down and the neighborhood feels unsafe. After checking with the Arlington Co. police, I discovered that there have been very few crimes in the area of Washington & Lee. Other low-cost apartments tend to have a greater crime rate, and to have more serious crimes. I think one of the reasons W & L has less crime is because the managment takes care to enforce even little rules around the apartments. If someone moves in and insists on playing loud music all night long or if they have a history of not making rent because they aren't responsible enough to hold a job, then they won't last long here. Respectful tenants means the crime stays so low it practically doesn't exist. Plus there are several families who live here.

I've never had any problems with the management. When I need something fixed, maintenance arrives within minutes. There is always a parking spot available no matter when I arrive because W&L has a strict parking policy. Only residents w/a W&L parking sticker and guests with proper visitor's passes can park in the lots between 6pm - 6am. I know because I've been towed for violating this, and I've seen many others towed. But I didn't really complain because the rules are made known and I broke them. Again, this is part of the reason why W&L is low crime - little rules are actually enforced - disrespectful or unruly tenants won't last here.

Also, W&L is in walking distance to the Clarendon Metro, and is in a great location near 50 and 395. Plus there are lots of restaurants and basic stores within a short walk up Washington Blvd.

It's obvious the manager posted this! LOL...either that or Mr. Marks! Low crime has nothing to do with JACK! There have been certain areas in Arlington that have been crime problem areas for decades now, and the area that Washington & Lee is in has NOT ever been one of them. The manager has NOTHING to do with this! I lived here when the other manager Jackie use to run this joint and again, there was no crime...so stop ass kissing Ms. Rose Mr. Marks!
