I have lived here at W&L for just over two years, and for awhile things were just fine. The apartments are basic but decent, and the price is great for this area of Arlington. Free parking, Free utilities, and low rent were what attracted me to W&L.

Please PLEASE don't be tempted by the cheap price, because Washington & Lee apts is having MAJOR problems with a ROACH and MOUSE infestation. Last month, I have had to trap a mouse - a LIVE MOUSE - in a tupperware container and then bring it out to the dumpster. This was one of the worst experiences of my life.

And when you are cooking dinner, roaches will just appear and crawl across the countertop. This place is not liveable at all.

Look, W&L is just not sanitary or safe to live in at all, with all of these bug and rodent problems. I don't blame the property managers at all - they have been pretty nice to me so far. They even keep sending an exterminator over, but the problem is never solved. It just keeps getting worse.

I think that this place could be great if it weren't for the rodent and bug problem - but it is completely hazardous to your health to be living in a building with all of these roaches.

Look at all of the other recent reviews..."Would you recommend this place'" Answers: No, No, No, No... I am definitely not alone in my description of this place.

Yepp, there were mice in apartments. They would crawl out of the place where radiator tubes go in the floor. I thought I was hallucinating,when one of them rushed fast into the kitchen. Then it gnawed loudly on something behind the stove.

Wow...I guess you know that W&L is bad when I post a review about the mice here and it only takes 30 minutes for someone else to say the same thing. We need to organize and notify the Arlington Housing Department of these unsafe conditions at (703) 228-3765.

I spoke with the AHD and they said that W&L is within its legal responsibilities if they make "some attempt" to treat the problem. The gentleman suggested that our only real hope is if all of the tenants join together and threaten to all move out or to take legal action against the complex. I'm just completely devastated. Roaches and mice are health hazards! The management doesn't take any real action and the problem just worsens. A roach crawled into my roommate's water glass last night when she wasn't looking and I found them near my bed. I feel like I'm losing my mind staying in this building!!!!!!!!!

When I first moved here I thought the price was too good to be true. Well that's the truth. I found a dead mouse the day I moved in! Things seemed to be okay after that and I'm sure having a cat helps but the roaches are horrible! They keep sending someone out but the problem is not being fixed. I would break my lease and move early if I could.

In wich building # did you live?I'm trying to move over there, and I've spoken to friends of mine, and they suggested W&L for me. They said" We never seen any roeches or mise in the apartment. They live in builiding #106

It is outrageous that this establishment has an "A " rating with the Better Business Bureau. Please, file a complaint against them; the living conditions are terrible in some units--we had an 8 month cockroach infestation that only got worse with time. I NEVER would have signed a lease here had someone filed a complaint. We owe it to our fellow consumers to be honest.
