Tolerable if you ignore the management, don't live on the third floor, and have good balance!

It's one of the last affordable places in Arlington. The aparments are old but big.
Unlike new buildings, the units actually have character.
That said, THE AIR CONDITIONERS DO NOT WORK on the 3rd floor. (Or anywhere else for that matter.) Management will not replace the units with stronger, more efficient models because they use more electricity. (You don't pay utilities.) I sleep with ice packs in the apex of the summer. Also, the staff cannot keep up with shoveling and deicing the walks in the winter. I called to complain and, by the end of the conversation, was asked "what am I supposed to do'" My suggestion was to build up their legal fund!
Yes, the complex has strict parking rules. (I, myself have been towed 4 times. Whatever you do, don't let your tags or stickers expire!) That said, I appreciate the policy when I come home at 10 pm and see few parking spaces available.
The managment is unprofessional at best, hostile at worst. Complaints and concerns are often met with rudeness and defensiveness. At this price, customer service is not a priority. That said,
I've found the maintenance staff to be courteous and efficient.
If you have a goal for living here, (ie. save money for a house, pay for school, just starting out, etc.), the units aren't that bad. Given the current market, though, I'd live here only as one of your last resorts.
