Overall Pretty Decent

The Wellington, formerly Arlington Overlook, certainly has had its issues at times and the management has kind of been up and down, overall it is not a bad place and the prices are reasonable for the space that you get.

I moved here last year right before the management change and things have improved slowly over the course of the year.

The recent window replacements improved the look of the apartment. The new paint on the doors and in the hallways dramatically improves the look. New washers and dryers are nice since everything is actually working, for once.

The leasing staff (in the central building) has been courteous, helpful, and great in getting responses from the building management for problems that I have run into.

Parking is decent, though ocassionally a pain since a lot of people are very inconsiderate and don't look when they open their car doors, leaving dings everywhere (I have had more door dings since I moved here than I did in nearly a year in LA). Also, there are some self-righteous arrogant twits that feel it is their job to enforce the parking, which is kind of annoying.

The pool is nice, though people are often inconsiderate and the kids running around everywhere can be annoying at times. The fitness center could stand a little more ventilation and some better equipment, but it's not too bad, all things considered.

Convenience is certainly nice to have. Being within walking distance to metro (albeit a fairly long walk) is good and the shuttle to the metro during rush hour is a huge plus. Being near the Mt. Vernon trail is great for weekend bike rides. Also, access to the 395, 27, 120, and 244 makes travel easy. Plus, you're only a handful of minutes from DC.

Admittedly, I have run into my fair share of problems such as the sewage backup from the toilet and a hole in my pantry from an exploration by the maintenance crew for a leak, they have always made an effort to make amends for their errors.

In the end, if you're interested in a place with decent size apartments for an okay price, this place is pretty good for this area.
