To be brief. The building it self is adequate to good. It was renovated about 4 years ago. The staff is good. The rooms are decent size , but the increase in rent has not been justifiable (nearly 10%) given that these facts: recent very loud construction noise that begins around 6:30 am, including on Saturdays. This used to be only true on the East Side of the building, which was bad enough if you lived on the NOrth or East Wing side. Tada! Now , and for the past several months and years go come, it's on the West Side and South side of the building as well (Jefferson St.). One might say, "well, it's only one day a week that I have to hear this". Yes, but that day is Saturday early morning. There are 52 Saturday mornings a year, plus perhaps you take off another few weekdays for vacations, illness, personal etc. . Bottom line, it's a very noisy area, and it's no where near a SUbway, the neighborhood aint all that good. For a few extra bucks you could live in Ballston, or Clarendon, or even Bethesda, or downtown, by a metro, without the need of a car. So how/why would anyone justify the dramatic increase in the rent' It was good for the first 2 years. So, Hasta La Vista.
