It's only because of mgmt that I rate Staff a 1 - it's that bad!!! Just as another reviewer pointed out!!!!! We signed up for a parking pass for the days we would be parking our rental car on the apartment property and was reassured by staff that as long as we had the sign visible on front dash and parked in the front row it would not be towed. Car ends up being towed anyway. Call to tow placed by their own security guard to the towing company (told to us by front staff). Called mgmt to discuss them paying for tow fee since they knew it was a rental and we did go through all appropriate channels before hand to make sure it would not be towed. She absolutely would not return calls so we by chance finally caught her when she was upfront. She was acting all strange and nervous and kept repeating herself like an idiot...said she received our calls but wanted to get facts straight with her staff and the tow company and had been in communication with them...BIG FAT LIE...called tow company and they denied that she even called!!! They said they remember having paperwork with officers name who placed the call (which she said she needed before she could pay us the fee back) and would send us a copy after speaking with her. The nightmare continues....conveniently after she speaks with them they somehow don't have record of it anymore and she doesn't remember who was on duty that night, which they are suppose to have on record! Total run-around w/ a total lack of concern for the money they cost us!!! and refusal to take care of the problem in a professional and timely manner!!!

You need to pay your rent minus the cost of the tow. With a certified letter to the Management and Dittmar. Make sure it's Certified. what happened to you is a VIOLATION OF YOUR LEASE AGREEMENT. you have right to have rent a Car on premise for as long as you want so long as the paper work is there. The Security there is a Private one, you have the right to know who was on duty then , Pursue it

I can see the towing activity from my window and I see the truck out there before the 11pm tow time. I see them popping car doors open and taking out the parking passes and crumbling them up & lots of against the rules stuff. I called the police and they say since it's private property and the truck is allowed here by mgmt they can't do anything. Of course, mgmt isn't going to do anything! I really believe the mgmt has some sort of interest in the tow company. I heard the front desk staff on 9/23 tell a man he didn't need a parking pass until 1am. For people who demanded an ID for the hotel cart because it was by the book I can't imagine they didn't know this wasn't true. It was only after I stopped the man and told him better did the front desk staff give him a pass. You need to contact Dittmar corporate office in Arlington personally and if you don't get your money back take it to small claims court. If you decide to deduct it from your rent you must put the amount in escrow AND notify Arlington County Housing Dept of the problem so you're not evicted for non-payment of rent or incur late fees. I THINK IT'S TIME FOR A TENANTS UNION IN THIS BUILDING FOR THESE "SMALL" ISSUES.

I used to live there and had nothing but problems from Gene the manager there. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING SHE SAYS!!!! SHE LIES ALL THE TIME!!! SHE IS A HORRIBLE PERSON THAT THINKS NOTHING OF KICKING YOU OUT FOR NO REASON AT ALL!!!

Ok, I used to live there too (we only moved out b/c we bought a condo a few months ago), and I have to say that the towing company is a problem. I tried to get around them by parking in the lot without a permit (I didn't think I'd get caught :) and it was ok for awhile... then I got towed. Ok, my fault. Then one time I was towed when I did actually have a pass in my window. I was pissed, and went to the front desk staff, who called the towing company for me. The towing company gave us and then me the runaround, but I kept on insisting that they bring back my car at no charge to me, and had the front desk call them again, and they eventually did so. Of course, towing companies being what they are, they didn't tell me they returned the car or where in the lot, but I figured it out. So if you're having problems with towing, it's not the apartment building's problem, it's the towing company. Oh, and to the bravely "Anonymous" who has a problem with Jean? So, you yourself are stating that you got evicted... um, this is Virginia, where renter's rights are far more strictly enforced than management rights. If you had any kind of case for this eviction, you would have been able to prove it and made a case against the mgt. You obviously didn't, so I think we can all dismiss what you say as sour grapes. If you're the person I'm thinking of who got evicted(finally, thank god!), then pretty much everyone in the building knew, unfortunately, that the "NO REASON AT ALL!!!!!" would be more like endless police calls to break up drunken/high apartment brawls on the porch, screaming abusive fits to front desk staff in front of everybody about those police calls (um, do you think it was front desk who called the police, or YOUR NEIGHBORS??), and who knows what else that wasn't public knowledge? Maybe you're not that person, but man that made me mad that people can be that seriously in the wrong, but in an anonymous forum they can seem like they're totally in the right. Why am I reacting so strongly to your name calling? Oh, that'd be because Jean was a huge help on pretty much everything I needed when we lived there, including the above towing issue. And because I saw how several people treated the management, when it was pretty clear they were the ones in the wrong.

Regarding the above comment, NO that is NOT me, in fact I never really had any problems there except the fact that Jean did not like me because she was extremely jealous of me since day one. I was living there way longer than she has been there and I never had any problems with the management before. When she gave me the eviction notice, I wanted to talk to her about it since I never had any complaints in the past but she would not meet with me. I then went to Dittmar and spoke with them about the eviction and all they said was that the law in Virginia states that if you are on a month to month lease then they can evict you without any reason. I called a lawyer friend of mine and he said yes that is the case. All I am saying is that beware of her because you may think that everything is ok (like I did) and then out of no where you get stabbed in the back.
