1. Excellent Staff: Carol & Joyce are consistently friendly, professional and competent
2. Great Apartment Floorplans: rented a spacious(1000 sq.ft.) 2BR/2Bath for about $1433. UTILITIES INCLUDED
3. View: 9th Floor our view from a very large balcony is the washington monument on one side and skyline towers on the other. beautiful at night and during the day
4. Location: Right at Bailey's Crossroads, walking distance to target/dsw/REI/world market/3 supermarkets/best buy/health food store/gold's gym/chili's/etc.... Easy driving access to 395/95, route 7, route 66, route 50, columbia pike, ballston, 5-10 minutes to subways, less than 30 minutes to dulles airport, bus stops on street, etc...
5. Responsiveness: Dittmar Company (mgt.) quickly responded to tenant concerns about safety, vandalism, and cleanliness. They seemed to expel troublesome tenants and overall, work hard to keep the value of the property up.
6. Amenities: Covered parking ($50/month), good 24 hour fitness room w/ cable TV, pool room, outdoor pool, UTILITIES INCLUDED, well-insulated walls (older brick bldg), onsite storage ($35/month), good off-street parking
7. Tenants: good for single professionals, young couples, families with young children. real diversity, probably 25-30 different countries represented. most tenants are generally courteous and respectful.
Summary: After reading some of the reviews for various apartments including Avalon at Arlington Square, I know that Wildwood Towers is a hidden gem. In the highly overpriced/overhyped DC/VA/MD market, Dittmar is truly an apartment "home" for ou-of-towners, and sets the standard for value.

Sounds like management - any actual residents want to comment? Also, acording to wmata.com, the commute into downtown DC via public transportation takes about 1 hour - is this accurate?

Commute is about 25 minutes to down town during rush hour. I get to Verizon Center non rush hour time in 15 minutes. Metro is 2.5 miles @ Baltson Orange Line, or about the same to Pentagon. Shuttle Bus right outside that takes you to Pentagon. King St. Metro is about 4 miles. I like it here over all. It's clean building, but I did not appreciate the 10% increase in my rent in one year. First year was the standard 5%, but 10% this year! I guess it's a motivator to buy. I think prices in real Estate will drop , so it will motivate me to move out. Bottom line is that it's over priced.

This is DEFINITELY a management review. Why mention a competitor- Avalon at Arlington Square? I've lived at Avalon and it is EXCELLENT. Mentioning it does a disservice to Wildwood.

I don't think you understand, I have been living at Wildwood for 3 years and I've never encountered such wonderful management representatives (Carol and Joyce). As far as the building is concerned, it has been a pleasure to live here. The balconies are humongous, the common areas are very clean, there is always parking, utilities paid is a big plus, residents are mostly friendly. You might want to upgrade your dishwasher though.
