I have lived at Windsor Towers for almost a year and my roomate and I are definitely looking for a better situation, although it wont be much harder to find something nicer than Windsor. We had problems before we even moved in. The rental office told my roomate she could fill out her application online, that was a lie and then the told her to fax it but said they never got it after she faxed it 5 times (no exaggeration)then after telling us they would waive the move-in fee and utility deposit they turned around and changed the numbers on the lease. The rental office staff has had quite the turn over rate and I see a new face there at least every month. They do not return phone calls promptly if at all.

The parking situation here stinks, for two high-rises there are about 8 passes and you must call as soon as the rental office opens in the morning. Although they even tow cars that belong to people who live here. I have had my car towed and still had to pay for them to bring it back even though it was managements fault and I missed half a day of work. Staff once and a while accepts packages but rarely. They have changed parking passes twice since I have been here in an effort to help with a lack of parking spaces but if you are home later than 11:00 you must risk being towed from an unmarked spot, which is the only place to park.

There are no sidewalks in the area and no place but the street for kids to play although there are some friends in the apartments to keep them company...the roaches. Yes Windsor like other apartments has them. Luckily because we do not pay for utilities we leave the kitchen light on, which helps but there are still 5-10 we see a week, with the light on.

Safety is even an issue around here, if the security people are on duty then it helps a little but the night lighting and the fact that the front lock was broken for at least 2 months does not make me feel safe at all.

We got many notices that our utility bills had not been paid, which is not good due to the fact that we get free utilities here and the notices were from Gates Hudson management and they were threatening letters that we would be kicked out, when I called the management on this they were unresponsive and did not care to call back, when they did about a week and a half later after 3 different calls they shrugged it off like it was nothing. Management cares only about getting their rent.

If you like firetrucks you will love living here though. The fire department has been here at least a total of 6 times since we have been here in this year. I am surprised though that managment even changed the fire alarms. When we moved in they had the bell type from 1940 and they have just changed them recently along with painting and adding flowers, dont let it fool you.

There is only one good thing about this place and that is that maintenance is very responsive and fixes things very quickly.

They also charge for visitors in the pool, the hallways are dirty and disgusting, the elevators are often broken down or take forever to get to your floor if you live anywhere but the 1st or 2nd. And if you want to be able to control the temperature in your apartment make sure you can open and close the windows because the thermostats do not work.

WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO LIVE HERE.

This is honestly the worst place I've ever lived (and I've done three tours in Iraq). I really can't beleive that a place like this exists in 2007. Windsor Towers is like some flashback to the 70's in regards to urban decay. You name, they've got it; roaches, non-functional washing machines, terrible parking policy, vomit in the vestibules, urine in the hallways, empty beer bottles in the stairwell, rude residents and the general feeling that a crime is either about to be commited or just was. Perhaps the worst part is the management. If they were merely inept, it would be comical. However, I feel that the management deliberately takes advantage of the largely imigrant population that lives here. You get the sense that the people who run the place feel that they can get away with anything just because their victims don't know the law well enough to stick up for themselves. It's a disgusting place, both morally and physically. I'm counting the seconds until I get out of my lease and sorely regret thinking that I'd found a deal. In the end, you get what you pay for.

I agreed I lived there for 10 years and since this last company took over the building started to fail. Very poor management, zero customer service. Zero, the do not answer the phone and when they do they are SOOOOOOO full of excuses. I moved 2 months ago and I am still waiting for my deposit and extra rent I paid. Do yourself a huge favor......DO NOT RENT AT WINDSOR TOWERS
