(Note: My wife and I haven't moved in yet, but I'd like to share with you our reasons for selecting Ryan's Corner)
The builder was having a rent special and the staff impressed us with their outstanding professionalism, charm, and a very good tour of the models. The buildings speak for themselves, and the amenities we saw are FAR above anything else in the surrounding area. Please consider, you'll be getting a townhome for the price of an ordinary apartment.
Onsite amenities also include a pool, cybercafe with high-speed (DSL) Internet access and a DVD/VHS library with free checkouts to residents. Do other communities have this' (I'm seriously wondering)
Ryan's Corner rental policies allow pets with better than average restrictions, and the community features designated pet walking areas in three of its four corners.
The landscaping is wonderful, if somewhat immature, and I feel confident it will take on an appealing look once the shurbs and turf take hold, and all of the ongoing construction is completed.
Exercise: Onsite fitness center with 4 treadmills and weight equipment.
Laundry: Full sized, not stacked in the unit we've selected.
Move-in: No problems anticipated. The unit we selected features a two car garage and ground floor access from both the front and rear of the building.
Recycling: Not sure yet.
Neighborhood: 90-95% new developments.
Freeway/highway access: Very close to the Dulles Greenway (toll road).
Office staff: First time I've ever been surveyed about my expectations BEFORE moving in. We'll see if they live up!
Rent increases: Not sure. After our first year in this new construction, I'll stop back here and post again!
We have our fingers crossed that move-in goes as expected. A two week overlap in our current apartment and this new townhome is planned so we can move in unhurridly.
