Think twice before moving in ....

I have lived here over a year.
I am being honest here, it has not been easy.
There are pros, and there are cons here.
Pros:
It is ten minutes from work.
It has a rustic feeling, there are trees here!
Weekends are not rowdy, nor week evenings.
I live in a quiet buiding, no loud stereos.
My rent only went up 2%.
Heating last winter was cheap.
Gas cooking.
Sidewalks well salted.
I am close to route 7.
Great pool, gym, and pool table.
They throw community parties.
Grounds are kept clean, mowed, well lit at night.
They give out finders fees.
Cons:
Apartment is SMALLER then my NYC apartment.
No window in kitchen (first time ever for me).
Little closet space, can not use porch for storage, wasted space, hot water heater uses only half the space.
Fire alarms go off all the time, not just mind.
Drug bust in the building next to mine, many of Louduin's finest were involved, plus K-9 unit.
Car burned up in parking lot.
Staff forgot I was moving in, forgot my key.
Gates never closed, don't open sometimes, either.
Extremely hard to get FEDEX or UPS packages.
Standing water in hallways, from where'
No phone for four months.
Cable intermittent, Adelphia, sometimes unwatchable.
Lose power at least once a week, must reset all my clocks.
AC was unreliable.
Skateboards becoming a problem.
BIGGEST CONS:
Need to put in speed bumps, to slow speeders down, one woman skidded into me, knocked me down (lucky, did not break my legs). A kid would not have been so lucky.
We are on approach to Dulles airport, planes are less the 500 feet above me. 777's rattle my windows, planes every 2 - 3 minutes, must keep windows closed, to sleep at night.
Staff is rude, serly, mean, and snobbish, which explains turnstile staff. Rick is the only exception. They too often forget, I am a customer.

If you only got a 2% increase, that means you must have renewed your lease, right?! So if it is so bad...why did you choose to stay?! It must not be as bad as you say it is. I have had many dealings with the staff at the Ashborough and have had absolutely no problems. They are always very nice and professional. And as far as the airplanes are concerned, I too live here and have no such problem. Why would you post something as lame as that?! Planes are obviously going to fly over head since we do live only 20 minutes from the airport!! DUH!! I don't have to close my windows when they fly over. I think you are over exagerating. I would recommend the Ashborough to all of my friends. In fact I do, and they like it as well.

Let be first start by telling you that I love living at the Ashborough, espically since heard they are going to have an adult swim night. But I would love to disoute some of these cons, which seem to completely out weigh the pros. #1 Keeping anything in the hot water heater closet is a fire hazard. #2 Standing water in the halls ways? Can we say rain? #3 And if you ever have a maintence problem (example: AC) is the maintenaence not there same day?? #4 Drug bust?!?!? I think you should check your sources before writing something so sandalous. Check with the office staff, they will tell you the real story. Maybe a false alarm stove fire! #5 Losing power is due to the numerous electrical storms our area has been experiencing. #6 You must have alot of time on your hands if you can nit-pick every little thing that's wrong with this place. #7 Why do you think it's completely full? They must be doing something right. |

Rude does not do these ignorant people justice. We have had the worst experience in our many years of renting. We will NOT be renewing our lease. Run, don't walk away from this hole.
