Not bad; pricey for what you get.

I've been here for seven months, and I'm used to apartment living. Anything nice I say will surely be flamed down by that yahoo running around responding to all reviews with negativity, but whatever.
Do note: the Ashborough is under several flight paths. There are planes. Planes are noisy. If you don't like plane noise, pick somewhere farther from the airport. Closed porch doors/windows greatly cut down the volume. I'd like to be able to keep my windows open at night in the summer, but I don't think I could.
Like most new construction in NoVA, the walls and floors are thin. Be considerate; walk softly. You -will- hear your neighbors. That's new apartments for ya.
The tubs are massive. I like big bathtubs - no more knocking my elbows and knees on the tub and shower walls.
After reading all the reviews about "rude staff," I think they must've cleaned house or something. I've had very good experience with the staff, especially this one guy whose name I can't recall. Staff could be a -little- more responsive to noise issues, though.
Rent is a bit high for what you get.
People's smoke alarms seem to go off a lot.
Porches are a little cramped.
Grounds are well-kept.
A big deal is made about the "safety" of a gated community, but the gates are often stuck open.
Only two trash locations, which is a pain.
At least half the apartments face a central courtyard, which makes for a nice communal feel.
Seems to be a major dog-lover's community - lots of dogs. People seem to be better than average (though not great) about cleaning up.
Maintenance is quick to respond to problems.
Packages are mildly obnoxious to get.
Mail is easy to get.
For the budget conscious, there is a grocery store within walking distance, but there is a much cheaper one about 5 mins. drive down Ashburn Village Rd.
Gym gets a little busy, but it's nice to have access to.
Gas stoves are excellent.
In the winter, heating bills are cheaper if you're in a "surrounded" apartment.
Parking is pretty good - almost always a spot near the front of my building. Rarely have to walk any distance.
There is construction going on nearby. It kicks up some dust which settles in breezeways. It'd be nice if this got washed off once in a while.
Speed bumps would be nice.

I'd like to add: we just had a problem with our A/C. Maintenance was there within four hours, and it was fixed. Then they called my cell phone to follow up a week later. I am impressed.
