This place is nice if you have a nice tenant in the lower level. we have a horrible tenant. she is an old lady who listens all the time what sounds are we making and ready to call the cops... Yes! she did called the cops in the first week of my move-in... noise/sound proofing is horrible and its the major drawback for this apartments... otherwise its a nice place to live.. the tenants upstairs of my apt make a lot of noise especially the kids... if they jump, my ceiling fan will vibrate.. and makes lot of sound.. its not that I don't want kids to play but during night its a major issue.. when my friends visit us in the week-end its a horrible story every time coz of complaints from old lady downstairs..now nobody is even thinking of coming to my place.. they are requesting me to move to another place..looking for a new sound proof home ;-))

The guy who lives above me had his son stay with him all summer and I had the same noise problems. Not only would my ceiling fan shake but also the pictures on my wall. I'm looking to buy a townhouse now.

This is the old lady who lives below you. I called the cop once! You have not stop making accessive noise in the whole 10 months that you have lived here. When all the poundings in the kitchen goes on for hours at a time and I can't even use the phone or listen to the news its pretty bad. When you have your in-laws here for months and they made noise all day long -- yes its a problem. Sometimes, the accessive noises are not limited to the 7 am to 11 PM either. They goes beyond those hours. When you spilled the yellow dried powder spice in front of your garage and even though I left you a message on your cell phone and you did not come down to clean it up and a lot of it went inside my garage and all over my car -- yes its a problem! because I have to carry out buckets of water to clean it up for you! Right now, I have to go out and clean up the leaves in front of my garage every day -- otherwise the wind blows them all into my garage when I open my garage door. You have never clean it up anything on your driveway once since you have moved in and right after I clean they keep blowing over from your driveway. If you do not know that the driveway is your responsibility, now you know. By the way, I complained again on Sunday of the noise in your bedroom on Sunday morning from 12:30 AM to 6 AM -- whatever machine you turned on that sounds like the firetruck engine left running. With all the lack of sleep that I have for three nights that week I ended up in the emergency room for extreme dehydration from lack of sleep then I almost went into a cadiac arrest. You seems to think that if you invite me to your dinner parties that gives you the OK for you and your guests to make as much noise as you want to, to whatever hours you want to. I am not the only one who are fed up with your inconsiderations. Other people have talked to me about it. You kept complaining about the children upstairs. They at least do go to sleep sometimes and spend many hours a day at school. Not only does my ceiling fans shake with you and your wife and your in-laws when they were here walking and your friends kids running, my glasses and dishes in my kitchen cabinets rattles. Your speakers also make these exploding noises all the time like fireworks going off sometimes until after 1 AM. Too bad you did not post this sooner when it was really hell down here everyday because I would like to invite anybody who wants to know what it was like to live below you to come knock on my door so that they could hear it for themselves. I don't have anything to hide so anybody who wants to hear my side of the story can come and knock on my door. I live at building 12, #103.

I am the daughter of the old lady who lives under you - I am surprised that you are complaining about her complaints, because in your post you have just complained about the people that live upstairs from you making noise. You know that noise from the apartment above your head is magnified in that building. I have stayed in the apartment below you on several visits, and my mother is not exaggerating the noise. The thumping noises of someone pounding something in a mortar goes on for a really long time, and shakes all the glasses in the kitchen cupboards downstairs. The person who lives below you has the right to some quiet time too - rather than complaining about the complaints you get, why not make an effort to reduce the noise you make? That is part of living in an apartment arrangement - respect for your neighbors. Every time I have stayed with my mother I have been shocked at the noise, and I live in a shared house with 21 other people where I work in Afghanistan. I know what NOISE is.
