We wanted a nice apartment for our first year in Loudoun County and decided to pay a little extra for the Stoneridge promises.
The complex is nice, the neighborhood is great. The staff has always been very professional and courteous. However, we regret our decision to live here because the walls are paper thin and the neighbors who have moved in and out in the past year have gone from bad to worse. We have a jerk upstairs who bangs around like an elephant and a trashy person downstairs who blasts the stereo with an extra lound bass sound until the wee hours of the morning. Lately, a tough looking, gang banger style teenager has taken to lounging on the steps leading to our place. He is dripping with attitude and appears to like bothering people. The other big problem is the trash - because some of the tenants are lazy, the trash often gets piled up around the dumpster instead of inside of it. By Sunday evening, a weekend full of apartment garbage becomes a smelly, huge heap. It is truly disgusting. The security gates are also an issues. First, they provide no security. Everyone gets in, no exceptions. However, they are often broken, do not work correctly, and several times have threatened to close on our car because they do not open all the way. One thing that I can say is really good is that the people seem to be honest. One day we left our garage open by accident and were gone for several hours. Nothing was touched. This weekend, I left my keys in the door. Anyone could have stolen our car. Yet, after several hours the keys were untouched. Someone wrote about the people being rude or uncommunicative. That is true, but it is true about any location in Northern Virginia. If you want a nice place with good service, Stoneridge is OK. The staff makes up for many of the bad things. However the paper thin walls are a real downer and would be enough to make us stay away if we had to do it again.
