I have only live here a few months, but have had to call maintance several times. The buildings are beautiful and apartments spacious, but nothing worked when I moved in. After making SEVERAL requests I finally had a working dishwasher, disposal, and washing machine 2 weeks after I moved in. I have lived in apartments for 6 years and have never had to call for anything to be fixed before. At Archstone I have had to call several times because even after getting the mouthy maintance man out I still could do wash or lock my apartment door. The dumpster areas are not taken care of at all and trash is lined up down the walkway and in the road. Parking at least is not usually a difficult task to find a spot, but there are no lights in any courtyards. If you want this community because it is gated, the gates NEVER work! All in all, run away from Archstone. All their "gaurantees" that they claim to have are complete BS. Reading through these I have seen some of my fellow neighbors who mentioned our fire alarm fun. Beware, there are children that enjoy pulling the fire alarm for the entire building. It happens very early in the morning and can happen 3 times in one week. The leasing staff has done nothing to find out who is doing this or to stop it.
