I will admit, my husband and I *only* make 32k which in this area is just a pittance, but, Archstone StoneRidge Apartments are just dreamy to us. We are part of the ADU program from Loudoun county and have one of the 2BR. We had to wait about 11 months to get in, but it was well worth it. Everyone who comes over loves our little place.

If you appreciate inner space dimensions at all, you will like the apartments. The ceilings are really high, all the appliances work top (and maintenance is fast here). If you like to cook as much as I do, the stove is gas. I don't like having a microwave above my stovetop, but that seems to be the style these days.

There are two pools and here and both are nice and well taken care of. Downside is, no toddler or kiddie pool. There are lots of families here with children and small babies, so that would have nice to have, considering they have 2!

We never have a problem finding parking right in front of our building, except after midnight like on a Monday or Sunday night. The neighbors are friendly with your usual Northern Virgina exceptions (there's just a certain amount of snooty content to NOVA that nothing will get rid of).

The complex has occasional doggie poopey bags stands to encourage people to clean up. Sometimes you get a newbie who thinks they can dodge that rule, but they always get found out and then it's nice. We have a dog, too, and always clean up after her. I see cats roaming around too.

The people at the front office are always so super nice and helpful, like Geejet and Luther - two very cool people! The maintenence staff are laid back, speedy and professional. Always nice to chat with. :)

The only real downside to living here as an ADU occupant is that there are only 2 units for the highly coveted 3BR units. We have been on the waiting list for that one since 2004 and still nothing. I wish something could be done about that, but that's more of a social structure issue than a real reflection of the friendly quality of the apartments.

Oh, the "gates" on the south side are often not working properly, so they have people working on them again and again. Don't really care for that, but I can say, in a power outage the gates open automatically for safety reasons which is cool. After having lived in several states and situations across the U.S. and in other countries, I have to say, if you don't like it here....you are just too high maintenance and perhaps on the spoiled side! :D

OH YEAH and they are totally ditching the ever unpopular COMCAST and getting Verizon sometime this year!!!! WOOHOOO!!! FINALLY!!!!! SWEET.

I am on the ridge side, on Ashlar Terrace facing south and I always get the best sunset views. I will try to upload some photos of that.
