Nice place, poor customer service

I actually am pretty satisfied here. It's a nice, new location and reasonably priced (relative to what else the area has to offer for comparable units). I love the space and the availability of parking (on my side of the neighborhood anyway). However, I must admit that I have been disappointed with the customer service. For one, the office is closed just about every other day. I cannot tell you how many times that there has been a sign on the door with some lame excuse as to why they are not in that day. I would think that at least one person be required to be present during operating hours... that said, it BURNS ME UP that the voicemail message says that they are not in b/c "they are showing someone their new home". I call that a BOLD FACE LIE since the sign on the door says differently. The one time that I really needed help, I paged maintenance (as the sign suggested) and no answer. I thought that was terrible. On the whole, the people working in the office are nice and personable, but I venture to say that I agree with what a previous commentator said about them not caring after you sign the lease. I must also agree with the person that said the complex is not a playground. In an area where this many people live... traffic is inevitable and its your responsiblity to monitor your children. My unit is on the second floor (above garages)... and I do hear a limited amount of noise. But come on guys --this is an APARTMENT in a complex, not a single unit dwelling. As far as the unit -- I was particularly disapointed that there were no overhead lighting fixtures in either bedroom or the living room! Not sure if it was just my unit... but that is really cheap. Also, for the person commenting on the area not being landscaped... that is b/c of state and federal water quality regulations. The buffer zone of the "creek" cannot be trimmed--to prevent the runoff of pollutants into the creek from stormwater. Which I happen to think is great (I'm an environmental policy advocate)... I just wish our leasing agent wouldn't have lied when we looked at the place and said the area would be landscaped. I knew she was full of it.
