First of all, the walls, ceilings and floors seem to be made of cardboard. This is compounded by the fact that I happen to have rude neighbors above me.
The toll road is two blocks away and the airport is three miles away, which makes for a relatively noisy ambience.
My smoke detectors go off every time I cook something, regardless if all windows are open, so I've unhooked them all and removed all batteries (yes, this is unsafe, but it's unliveable without doing so). On their semi-annual check, the maintenance people simply looked up at the smoke detector and said "looks good" and left.
I've had bugs in my apartment non-stop (the orkin man came here at least a half-dozen times in the first six months), and other maintenance problems that haven't been dealt with and we've been told that nothing can be done to fix them. Even the ones that could be fixed took weeks to months to be completed.
The fridge, freezer, and dishwasher are the smallest I've ever had.
It is always about ten degrees colder in the second bedroom, regardless of what the thermostat is at. The leasing office suggested we re-angle the vents.
They don't call you when you have a package, no matter how long it's been there, you have to check (so if you miss the slip, you may never get your mail).
The people in the office are very nice, but don't always come through.
