nice place, but you pay for it

Years at this apartment: 1996 - 1998
I lived for two years in the prof/grad section and did not have the problems that others here have claimed. My only main complaint would be that the floors are thin and you do hear whoever is above you. For about a year, my upstairs neighbor liked to get his jazz buddies together and play every Friday night (thank goodness they were good musicians). Otherwise, the staff is very professional and maintenance is prompt. The apartments are nice/clean/etc. and the grounds are well kept. There is regular bus service, plenty of parking and a nearby grocery store (currently being rebuilt). I would walk around property on the weekends and there would be some parties, but not that many. There??s a pool and clubhouses that you can use for private functions (plus they have some fun Monday Night Football gatherings in them and other socials).
IMHO, this is probably the nicest apartment complex in Blacksburg. It??s more expensive than many though, and more distant to campus than most. In the end I moved to a different apartment, not because I didn??t like Foxridge, but because there are cheaper places closer to campus. That said, if you are like I was at the time and in search of "safe choice" in apartment living with very little time to hunt for an apartment, Foxridge is a good choice.
