We stayed at Knollwood for a couple of years and felt like the staff were not very helpful in fixing any major problems, the maintenance were obnoxious and rude (coming without an appointment, parading through the apartment opening up our fridge, going into bedrooms, etc, without explaining what they were doing - we felt like they were barging in on us univited), and the grounds smell of dog crap. Parking was the only nice thing about it. We requested 2 extra months be tacked onto our current lease since we would not be able to sign for a full year, but needed to stay in the area to finish school - we were told we would be considered... and when we checked up a month later, we were told that our apartment was already rented out. We had to find a nice landlord in town who would allow us to rent for two months, kind of a headache when you have a baby and you are also a full-time student needing to focus on school rather than moving twice in two months. We felt overall dissatisfaction with Knollwood and would never have rented there if we had researched our options better. They also screwed us on our deposit return... we left the place in near perfect condition, and even cleaner than when we moved in, but they still took $600 of our $900 deposit. My wife and I agree that this place sucks, and hope to warn other renters of what they are getting into.
