My husband and I have lived here for a year and plan to stay for a few more. It's REALLY quiet here. The people in the rental office are very friendly, and maintenance is very efficient (they usually come within an hour of my calling).
My only complaint is that the cabinets are ancient and falling apart, but we have a brand new bathroom, carpet, refrigerator, and stove so I won't complain.
The rent is incredibly reasonable and they allow a pet (one only) at only $25/mo plus $200 down.
Comcast, however, has a monopoly on cable here and we are getting sheisted. I think that is pretty common in Blacksburg, though. At least heat and water are FREE! It more than makes up for it.
We will definitely be here for years to come.
