I rented a townhome here while an undergrad and my parents and I felt the need to contact the health dept. b/c of the condition of the townhouse. There was actually a hole from the outside of the house in! There was a mouse in our a/c vent. Just a really disgusting place to live. I only actually stayed 1 night b/c I couldn't stand it. The entire rest of the year I stayed with my boyfriend at Terrace View.

The manager is a total SLUM lord and the maintenance guy, though friendly, is too overworked to actually get anything done that we needed done.

It should've been a hint to myself and my roommate NOT to sign the lease when he told us that we were not allowed to see any of the homes until we moved in.

Again, it is NOT worth it to live in this dump.

They are actually some of the better properties in Blacksburg. But you are right some of them are dumps. The one I lived in was nice, but my neighbor came back from summer break and his house smelled like death - the cause? A rat in the toilet. It took them a while to come and remove the thing. The houses are individually owned, so it's really just luck of the draw if you get a good one or not. If you get a good one, it's a great place to live, very centrally located.
