Good Value, Depends on Who You Rent From

The complex is a good place for an undergrad - cheap, close to campus, and on three major bus routes.
As for parking, I've never had any issues finding a parking spot. Even when I came back at 2am on a weekend I was always able to find at least one spot in the entire lot that was open. If there hadn't been any spots, the community rules for the complex state that residents can park beside the medians in the middle of the lot.
The only problem I have experienced while staying here was with the leasing company I chose to rent from, Burnette and Co. Realtors. They have made my stay here nothing short of a nightmare. I had a couple of roommate problems crop up and they have always managed to be complete ass***** when I ask for their advice. In addition, every time I went to their office to drop off my rent check, they acted like it was such a hassle and came across as standoff-ish. Same goes for whenever one of my roommates or I would call into the office with a question. Their attitudes came across as extremely unprofessional. Also, on a couple of occasions when we had something broken at our apartment, we would ask them to put in a work order, they would come back and say that they had put one in, then a week or two later we would notice that nothing had been done and we would have to pester them until they fixed the problem.
I was also told that if you go to Charles (head of the company) and try to talk to him about getting your security deposit back after you move out he will curse you out and throw you out of his office. I am still living here now but after hearing this I am dreading move out.
They are the only company that Student Legal Services on campus advises students to stay away from, and after my experience with them I don't question why they do this.
My best advice is if you want to live in University Terrace, go with another major leasing company or even a private owner. Bottom line - DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH BURNETTE AND CO. REALTORS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! Signing a lease with these people is like selling your soul to the -----.

This will be my third child to live off campus at college. I've never had so many problems with a rental as I've had this year with Charles Burnette & Co....and my son hasn't even moved in yet!
Over several months, I have left messages by phone and email to Charles Burnette with questions.Resently I sent another email to ask about picking up keys to move him in on a Saturday...they aren't open on Saturdays.(don't most working parents want to move their son/daughter in on weekends?)No arrangements could be made for us to pick the keys up somewhere else, or have mailed to us. I was told keys have to be signed for. The lease can be done over the computer, but signing for keys was a "no". I have lots of concerns about Charles Burnette & Co., but, I will stay positive. I just hope things go well for this year, next year my son will live somewhere else!!!

Ofcourse, no one sends key by mail, they always do it in person. This is very obvious and it goes the same way in rental housing from decades.
