dont live here

I currently live here at the Village, and I think it was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. The website and pictures look all great, but when you get here, it's horrible. The outside of the apartments look nice, but when I moved in, our apartment was horrendous. There were cracks in the bathtub, holes from where a towel rack used to be, the door to the bathroom came off its hinges, the AC unit was broken, the dryer has a foot and a half wide spot that is discolored and scratched up (it looks horrible), the refrigerator leaks and nobody has come in to fix it (even though we put in four work orders for it last month), the furniture (we had ours furnished) is badly damaged and missing chunks of wood, the maintenence staff is horrible, and it's just very VERY disappointing to be paying $360 a month for a hellhole. Then, the worst of all of it, is the management. They never informed myself, or my roommates, that we had to set up the electric and water bills in our names. They claimed they sent a packet out to everyone moving in, but since I'm subleasing, I never got one (which doesn't make sense, because i'm going to be living there), and my roommates, who live out of the country, never received one either. When I called them to discuss the $50 administrative fee on a $12.46 water bill, they said, (and I directly quote) "we have hundreds of residents who live here, we cant keep track of who all receives their packets" and I said "well you could put forth more effort to ensure everyone is on the same track, maybe post it on your website, or remind them at move in so if they didn't do it already, they can do it ASAP so they won't have to be my situation". The management team is very rude, attaching rude letters with the bills, and I am extremely disappointed with how they run this business. I would NOT recommend this complex to anyone under ANY circumstances. I'd rather live in a box then do business with people who treat me like a second-rate citizen because I am attending college. They're nothing more than money hungry pigs that are looking to dig their hands into your pocket for every little thing they can, and they don't live up to their responsibilities of maintaining the apartments.
