Horrible experience

I lived in the village for 2 years with a couple of my friends and simply put, it was horrible. We stayed in an unfurnished room which made rent cheaper but I guess it also meant that they were cheap with the repairs. The first year I was there, a pipe broke and water leaked into my bedroom. I called the repair people and 3 days later they came out. By then I already had mold growing. All they did was fix the leak and sprayed something on the carpet. They didn't try to dry the carpet or anything. For the next year I still had mold growing on my carpet. When I first moved in, my light didn't work and my fan looked like it was going to fall right off the ceiling whenever I turned it on. I made at least 10 requests throughout the year for someone to come in and fix it and what did they do' About 2 weeks after I'd put in the requests, someone would come out and despite the fact that I told them the light bulb was fine, they changed the light bulb and nothing else. Finally I just bought one of those torch lights. About 4 months before we moved, a guy came and replaced the whole fan. That did fix it, but about a year and a half too late. One of my roommates had to keep towels by her window whenever it rained because the water would just leak into her room. It literally rained by her desk. No one ever came to fix that one either. Another big problem was that the apartment above us had a pipe burst or something because water was raining from our ceiling into the kitchen. We had pots sitting under all the spots where the water was coming down and they filled pretty quickly. We called maintenance but they apparently didn't think a flood was a big deal because they didn't come until about 6 hours later. Our furniture was damaged, the ceiling was coming down and we couldn't use our stove because it had water all throughout it. They came back a few days later and pulled up part of the carpet so they could dry it. They never put the carpet back down and it took more than a month for someone to come out to clean the carpet. When they came to clean the carpet, the guy took a couple minutes and just did a tiny area, not even getting all of the part that got wet in the first place. He did however leave a nice and clean trail on our disgusting carpet. They left the ceiling the way it was, they just painted over the dark spots where the plaster was coming down. We could see part of the wall separating from the ceiling. On top of everything, some of the people living there were just plain nasty. They partied every night, which didn't bother me much but they took it upon themselves to vandalize the front of our apartment. We had decorations stolen and someone even defecated on our doormat. The year we left there was also an armed attack a few buildings down. You probably saw that in the news. So overall, if you want a place where the maintenance people don't give a crap, where the ceiling is literally falling down on you, and where drunks steal and mess up your stuff then by all means go ahead an pay the 360 bucks. Personally, I moved to foxridge.
