Don't let them fool you!!!

Don't believe what you see on Bent Tree's website or what the leasing agents tell you. What you see when you come into the complex is what they want you to see. Nicely landscaped with trees and flowers to make it seem like a nice place to live. I would rather live in the woods than be surrounded by the type of trees they put up here. As soon as you hit April and it gets warm there are bumblebees/wasps/carpenter bees all over the place. If you are allergic don't even consider this place. I called the office to inquire what they are doing about the bees and they told me they can't do anything unless we see a nest and tell them. I told them there was one in our gutter and the next response was, "No one will go in the gutter to get the bees out." Great, so I can't go out on my deck now' My neighbor just put up a mesh net around his deck so his dogs won't be bothered by the bees.
Maintenance is not really that great. They get here pretty quickly, but somehow always leave without the problem being fixed. Our dryer takes 3 50min cycles to dry anything. Maintenance has been out 5 times to look at it. The final response that I got was that we did not pay for newer appliances, so they can't give us a new one unless we pay more. I don't care if its new, give me another old one as long as it works.
The apartments are old and it is apparent when you walk inside them. They aren't energy efficient and my electric bill is over $120/mo (probably also b/c of the extensive dryer use). All of the apartments are wired for cable, but only half of them get COX cable. The other half get some local cable company that has more spanish channels than english ones and doesn't offer cable modem. Fine...DirecTV it is. If you get DirecTV, I hope you don't get the TIVO or DVR. It is such a hassle to try to use the cable wiring system throughout the apartment that was installed when these apartments were built over 20 years ago.
Parking sucks. No assigned spots, so a lot of times you end up parking on the other side of the complex.
Overall, if you can afford a little bit more per month than choose another complex nearby. It should have dawned on me that this place was no good when all the other apartments nearby are at least $100/mo more. Everything about these apartments are outdated. The office staff is not very helpful or friendly. The maintenance staff is friendly, but not helpful. Nothing is the way it should be with the amount of money they are pulling in from us suckers who live here. Stay away from Bent Tree. You wouldn't want to get stung would you'
