I moved to Bent Tree last spring. I was relocated by my work and did not know the area. I was ill prepared for how expensive NoVA was. I was looking at some fairly inexpensive places (AKA dumps!)So when I saw the "renovated" apartments here I was impressed. That lasted a couple months. I know people use this as a forum to complain. I just want people to understand what they are getting into. I have lived in a lot of places all over the country and I have been very disaapointed with this place.
Overall:
Superb location
Close to lots of things
Not well thought out floorplans
Small units
Pet Friendly
Poor insulation
Very noisy
Friendly/helpful staff
Mixture of high, medium, low class people
Noisy, disruptive, disrespectful children
Space:
Very minimal closet space
ZERO storage space in the bathroom (plus no toilet paper holder!!)
Very minimal counter space in kitchen
There is an outdoor storage area, but not safe from elements
Noise:
These apartments are not well insulated. I can hear and feel every little footstep from my upstairs neighbors. And she is a little woman!!
If people/children are outside, even with windows shut, you can hear everything.
You can hear any stair traffic outside.
Staff:
I have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, although not honest when asked questions about this place prior to move in.
Safety:
I have not had any issues with this. I have always felt safe. I am a single woman who ives alone.
Maintenance:
No real issue with maintenance either, excpet that they will enter your apartment several times without asking permission for routine maintenance. Also, the conduct maintenance starting at 8 in the morning. Very disruptive
Rent:
I suppose it is reasonable for Fairfax County, but for a little more you can rent a much larger townhouse
