Only as bad as you make it

I have been living at the Elms for two years now. I will not be renewing this time do the fact that I am moving to a place where your rent counts towards the purchase of a house ( a hell of a lot better than renting anywhere) and the tenants of the complex are starting to worry me. Must say that the two years I have seen a change in tenants more so than management. When I first moved into this place was great relatively young people and not over crowded, always could find a parking spot. Two years later and the tenants are starting to get a little more shady. The rent here is not that expensive between 1000 and 1400 would be a good estimate, which you could afford with a roommate if you both worked at McDonalds. With that being said, these are the type of tenants that I am starting to see, low income. With that comes more noise, fireworks all year, no parking because each person has 3 busted up non-running cars. In fact where my place is there currently sites a car( tags out of date, failed inspection ) a boat, and two trailers, none of which have been moved with in the past six months. If you have a dog like myself, beware other tenants do not pickup after their dogs and the biggest of them all is that they do not walk their dogs on a leash. Needless to say I have had several encounters with ankle bitters while walking my dog. If you are willing to over look these things, then the Elms is a good place for you, but for me it will not cut it anymore. The staff at the elms has had very little turn over, office staff is great, maintenance is not to bad. I have been with out AC for about three weeks, it took maintenance awhile to find the problem, but they did provided us with a portable AC unit until ours was fixed and even gave us a rent credit while they were trying to find the problem. I would suggest that if you are looking at moving to the Elms that you get a place on the top floor. Everything creaks here. I have spots in my floor that when I step on make such a noise that even I feel bad for the people below me. The grounds a well kept, there is a huge grass field by hided the complex that is open to the public which is good for a little football, soccer, playing with the dog ( while on a leash still) and the price on rent hasnt gone up more than 45 dollars, which is good if you plan on staying long-term.
