I lived in Madison Ridge for a year after moving to NoVA from Kansas City. I moved into the place site unseen and found my apartment to be nice....for the first month or two, until a lovely gentleman moved in above me with his two black labs puppies and his three year old son.

The dogs barked for an hour ever morning at 5:30 when the man left for work and for an hour every evening after he came home. During the day, he would leave them on the balcony (directly above me) that was about a 5 x 8 yd space. They often left nice little "presents" all over our building and my balcony.

When I issued a formal complaint to the Management staff they were helpful and said they would send him a letter. They followed up a week later and said that they he had no idea what the dogs were doing and he apologized to me. However, the staff also told me that the man had never registered his dogs which should have gotten him and his animals kicked out -- but it didn't. The dogs continued to bark and leave presents on my balcony and all over our building that were downright nasty.

I enjoyed my time at this complex, but would hesitate in recommending it due to the flightyness of the staff for not really taking care of this problem.
