I used to live in Manassas and was looking for apartments there. It was my first time on my own but the problem I found in manassas was the stupid maximum income restrictions. So I was forced to look in Fairfax County. Madison ridge had advertised a 2bd/2ba apartments for $999 a month and no income limits. I thought great....I was wrong....

I was shown an apartment that was very nice, clean, updated and so forth. The one i actually get was the complete opposite. There were things broken when I moved in. The appliances are really old and dated. My washer/dryer never works properly. Lights flicker every once and a while, and the worst part is the AC and heat.

Our ac and heat probably breaks every other week. The worst time was in the dead of summer. They didnt fix it for 2 weeks. So that was the perfect time to take a vacation.

Also, it is very noisy. Neigbors are friendly...if they speak english. My neighbors upstairs had a young daughter but every morning and every night, it sounded like they were dropping anvils on the floor right above my bedroom.

I hate the fact that I have to walk across the parking lot to put trash in the dumpster. Its right next to the woods which makes me very uncomfortable at night.

Parking is a pain because they give you stickers to put on your car when you move in which are for the spaces right in front of the building. Visitors have plenty of spaces further back up on a hill. I have a sticker on my car but half the time i have to park in visitors spots far away cause I see new cars in that parking lot everyday that dont have stickers and take our spots.

There was also a drive by shooting in the parking lot...when I was still in my car!! luckily they missed my car but they took some kind of bb gun i guess and shot out a bunch of cars windows...and the people they were targeting were my neigbors. Yeah, I want to live here....I dont think so.

Management is awful. They act like they dont care about their residents. If you call to ask them to fix something, they take forever to do it. They have attitude problems. They put eviction notices on my door when it was their fault for loosing my money orders or checks.

I forgot to mention the ant problems as well.

Also, when I moved in, they did not have a maximum income. Towards the last few months of my lease, they switched the management and told us they have a maximum income now that if we dont fall under, then we have to leave. I thought that was kind of stupid because that was the reason i moved there is because there wasnt a limit. Now we had to evict because of new management. It was such a hassle. And they took forever to tell us that we had to leave so we had to pack our stuff and move out in a very short time.

Dont live here unless you want to get ripped off.
