Very Thin Walls and Ceilings...I can hear every lyric to the song my neighbor was playing.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2009

I lived in this community for a total of 3 years - 1 year in the top level unit w/o adjoining bedroom walls and 2 years on the 1st level w/adjoining bedroom walls.
With 2 years of being a resident of the same unit, I have been very dissatisfied with the quality of the building structure and follow-through for maintenance issues. For example, I made the Apartment aware of the very large drywall crack behind the living room window blinds that leaked profusely during heavy raining. When I called the Service line the second time to complain about the problem, I was informed that there was no record of the first complaint of the same issue. The Apartment never communicated to me that the problem was fixed or why the problem could not be fixed. I have been a resident of the same unit for two years by July 13, 2009 and the problem still remains.
Another example, is that the walls and ceilings are very thin. I can hear mid-tone conversations of my neighbors sharing through the adjoining bedroom wall. This type of sound quality is the same to one you would find in a college dormitory. When I had a couple that weighed collectively approximately 400-450 lbs living above me, I heard every single step they took and every squeak that came from their bed at night or early morning. On top of that, I also heard their small-sized dog relentlessly making laps throughout their apartment, sounding as if it were a small child running around.
For these reasons, I am very eager about the ending of my 2nd lease term at Post Corners and am conditioned to refuse to rent [in another (Post) apartment] again in the future.
Parking: When I lived in the main phase, parking was always a hunt!! I live in the smaller phase now and I have had absolutely no problems in finding a parking space that was relatively close to my front door.
Aside from the above mentioned issues, my experience with Post Corners has been good.

How is it possible for you not to know if the problem has or has not been fixed? Each time a post maintenance person has entered my apartment they have left a handwritten personalized note on my kitchen counter outlining what they have done or what remains to be completed if it can't be finished that day.
They also update every maintenance request on the Post website with these same details so its easy for you to track if something has been fixed or not.
I too live in the smaller phase and find that there are some on this side who are terribly inconsiderate of others when it comes to parking. We have a three bedroom apartment, thus three adults with vehicles. We would NEVER occupy more than one space close to the entrance of the building. There are some who occupy several up front spaces.
As to noise, we do from time to time hear neighbors walking about, however short of living in a single family home this is something every apartment community will have in common.

I only speak from my experience. You have my sympathy for that side of the parking lot. I agree with you - the Apartment should enforce those vehicles taking up more than one parking space. As for maintenance, yes, they usually leave a note indicating that they performed a service. They came out after the 3rd time and left a note incidating that they will have a contractor come and look at the issue. I never received a note on my counter telling me that a contractor came by. I called the service maintenance for the 3rd time, right when the portal was launched to inquire that status of the issue. I shouldn't have to bother them over and over again about a problem that I have already raised - it should be an open ticket until the problem is fixed. This drywall problem existed a year before the on-line Post Portal was launched to the communities and they did not import pre-Post Portal issues to this site, as they should have. So, until I see that note on my kitchen counter indicating that they fixed the drywall, it is not fixed as far as I am concerned.

Funny, a passionate anonymous defense of Post the same day a somewhat negative review was posted. Sounds like a member of the Post team to me. You can put all the perfume on a pig you want, its still a pig. Be glad Mish that you only wasted 3 years there. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for longer than that before I couldn't take it any more.
