I own my own place at the Meadows. Yes, we refer to it as the 'Ghettos', but it really truly is not all that bad. I agree with some comments about some problem people/kids. Unfortunately, owners that rent to ANYONE and their brother are the real problem out here. If the Meadows BOARD was more strict on WHO owners rented to, we would not have drug dealers and low lives and immigrants living here 15 to a house. And it's SO true -- condos do NOT raise kids, PARENTS do. Any 'bad' kids are 100% the fault of 'bad' parenting. All in all, I feel very safe here. Yes, there have been a few incidents, but NOWHERE in America are you 100% safe. You may THINK you are, but you're NOT! Watch the news and see for yourself! We have the SAME crime that anyone else does and if yo want to live in a gated, white community and pay 2 million dollars for a home, THEN you may be safe, but again, never 100% safe! You can tell a place is decent by the amount of owners that have lived in the community for ages, and the Meadows has that. There are tons of families that have lived here for over thirty some years. That in itself says ALOT.

WHY IS THE MEADOWS LISTED UNDER APARTMENT RATINGS - ALL UNITS ARE CONDOS. Anyway, the original comment is true; no need to sugarcoat the facts. In addition to owners, Management / Homeowners Committee also need to step up and do a better job of managing what happens in the community. I also agree with an earlier comment on placing trash bins in the area versus having bags lined up and down the community. Additionally, whatever happened to having restricted parking up and down St Germain...too many close calls just trying to get out of the Meadows and onto the street because of the trucks and equipment obstructing the view.
