Should be called Down Hill, rather than The Meadows

Was once a great neighborhood, but going down hill ever since the apartments adjacent to the Meadows property was demolished. Crime, traffic, and immigrants have taken over a once quiet, family-oriented community. The condo fees go up every year, but yet no new benefit is added to the community. The managing staff is money-hungry, and choose to ignore the issues that are arising in the neighborhood. They will reprimand a tenant for a stupid flower pot under the stairs, but ignore the fact that there are possibly 10 people living in a unit and driving up all the water usages. They hire sub-par companies to do work on the grounds or facilities....probably to save money even though they take more from the residents every month.
Personal example... the paint crew they hired to repaint the windows and trim did shotty work, and left their bent up paint brushes, and empty beer bottles all over my balcony. It looked like a party had gone on. There was paint all over my patio furniture, flowers, bottles stuffed in my flower containers, my porch umbrella was torn and painted on....but yet, I cleaned up after their mess. After the work was done, all the windows were painted shut to where I was unable to open and replace my storm windows. Sure enough, I get a notice from the office that I need to replace my storm windows and screens for the aesthetic purposes of the neighborhoods. The office gave me til a certain day to have the items mentioned back on or I would be charged a fee per day until it was done. Living alone and traveling for work did not make it convenient on being threatened my the office over stupid window screens, but I did manage to finally get the windows back open and replace the screens before their due date. I thought nothing further was wrong, but about 3 months later, I received a bill from the office stating that I owed them around $300 for not informing them that I had replaced my screens! What''' The screens had been on my windows before the deadline date that they had given me, but yet they still charged me a fee every day for 3 months just because I didn't call and tell them that the screens were back on. Why would I call and tell them' I would assume that a deadline date meant that someone would be around on that date to verify if I had complied with their request. So, you mean, I could have just called by that date, not really putting the screens back up, and just tell them I did'' Please. Why did it take them 3 months to inform me that they were charging me $10 a day for nothing' I immediately appealed this to the board, and simply told them that this was a mistake, I had complied to their request by the date that they had given, that I could not afford this ridiculous fee, and I asked them to waive it completely since they could clearly see that there was no violation still outstanding. They voted "no", but said they would do me a favor and reduce the fee to half. A favor of being charged for nothing, and paying them money that I did not have to give. That is when I knew that The Meadows was not the neighborhood it once was. The managing company keeps taking the money of it's loyal resident, knit-picking at stupid violations, and ignoring the more serious ones such as crime, and over-population.
The past few years, I have been very disappointed by the managing staff and ashamed of this neighborhood. I would never recommend anyone to live here unless something changes. Once the newer condos next door are developed, it seems that The Meadows will become the "scurge" of the community.....very much like the apartments that were demolished.

I AGREE! I Live in the Meadows and the money-hungry management is absolutely ridiculous...I was 30 days late BY ACCIDENT on my HOA fees, and I was promptly sent to collections at an attorneys office....doesn't matter that I have LOYALLY been paying my dues for FOUR YEARS...this is the first slip up I have had and it was a total accident, but doesn't matter to them! $250 in attorney fees so now I am totally behind in ALL my bills because of this....once was a great place, but yes, going downhill for sure...I will sell as soon as I can, that's for sure!!!

I totally agree, they charged me $ 700.00 for taking out the direct TV dish. I am a single parent could not take out a dish by myself and when the management did they charge me $700.00 fee with no idea what it's for. Asked for a detailed receipt could not provide one.
