I really love my apartment, and have found that the problems others have had seem blown way out of proportion. The apartment is huge, a large bedroom, an office, and a large living area. our 1-bedroom apartment is a duplex, which is so nice. The unit was clean when we moved in,and everything was in working order. we havea dog and 2 cats, and they are allowed. our dog is very large (a greyhound) and has plenty of space in the apartment. The apartment has a lot of windows, it gets great daylight during the day, and has awesome views of the sunsets. parking has NEVER been a problem. I work very late, so I assume I am the last one into the parking lot at night on many nights, and I have never not gotten a parking spot in front of our building. The only parking problem is that there could be more visitor parking spaces. I walk my dog, and have noticed that some neighbors do not clean up after their dog, but it isn't a problem near the apartments, just in the larger green spaces where everybody walks their dogs. I also like that we live in a diverse neighborhood that has apartments, townhouses, and single-family homes. the apartments are part of a neighborhood, not just a building plopped in the middle of a commercial area. I feel safe walking my dog at night, and have nice neighbors who i can borrow a cup of sugar from if I need it. I occasionally hear noises from our neighbor, but not usually. It certainly isn't anything to complain about, it's more sound-proof than most places. Our dishwasher did break, and it took over a week to fix, but that was just because they were waiting for a BRAND NEW dishwasher to be shipped to them for installation - nothing to complain about! We had a few ants when we first moved in, but we sprayed once for them and they never returned. There weren't that many to begin with anyway. The office staff isn't extremely helpful, and they NEVER answer their phone, you have to walk over there to get anything done, which is annoying. But, they always answer my questions or fulfill my request, so at least they get the job done. The rent is very reasonable, too. It was cheaper than a smaller apartment in a less desirable area. In short, we have never stayed past our lease at our other apartments, but we will be staying here for a few years, until we can afford a house, which, by the way, they will help you buy with their rent-to-own program.
