Ripped off my deposit!

I lived at the apartments for 2 years and enjoyed it for the most part. The walls are paper thin but you kind of have to expect that in apartments. There were no bugs or anything and the few maintenance things they fixed fairly quickly. It wasnt until I moved when I really got mad. They only asked for a $300 security deposite and for the first year when we moved apartments within the complex they didnt charge us anything and we kept the entire deposit and had it transfer to our new one, even tho I know there were a few broken blinds and spots on the carpet. Well now when I leave the entire complex they take my security deposit and also charge me $800 in addition to that! They are charging me this crazy $68 cleaning fee because they say the appliances were dirty and $80 to replace 2 large blinds that one was a tiny bit bent on one blind and the other had a tiny chip in one of the blinds...that is not worth $80!!! Oh and get this they are charging me to replace the entire carpet in the whole apartment because they say it is stained. Anyone hear of a rug doctor''' There was only one spot where my daughter got sharpee on the carpet in one of the bedrooms and they could most likely get that patched. Someone help me! I dont think this is right. Why charge a $300 deposit fee if you are going to ask for more money later''' Is this legal'
