Worst Apartments Ever

I lived in my apartment here for one year. During this year I had a pipe burst, a break in, and obnoxious neighbors who stayed outside all night with their toddler aged children screaming. I awoke in the middle of the night to water flooding my bathroom, I called maintenance and they fixed it within a few hours, but then I didn't have hot water for a week. In the next few weeks I received several letters stating that new pipes would be put in the buildings during the day, but not to worry, it would not interfere with my life. These pipes took 2 months (only scheduled to take 2 weeks), and they were only finished when I called to complain about holes in my walls and ceiling. While this was taking place, I noticed things going missing from my apartment. First small things, like CD's and DVD's. Then money. Although I left several messages for the leasing office and management I never received a call back. Once the work was finally completed, the workers vacuumed up the dust they left everywhere. Only then did they realize that their vacuum had a loose belt that pulled up part of my carpet and kitchen floor. But hey, at least they are out of my apartment. I received another letter saying the siding on the apartments was going to be replaced. Keep in mind this happened less than a week after my pipes were finally finished. Once the siding project began a portion of the already tiny parking lot was blocked off for the work related materials. Now I had to share the few spots that were left with the workers. I also had to deal with strange men on my balcony while I was sleeping, eating, getting dressed, etc. I also had to deal with strange people in my apartment all day, everyday during the pipe fiasco. But this is just the beginning. From the start I had my newspaper stolen at least 3-4 times a week. I complained, a letter was sent out, and it stopped for about a week before starting again. I eventually cancelled my subscription. I also had to deal with the people downstairs staying out until 2 am nearly everynight (even weeknights) drinking and yelling, and breaking bottles. This wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have 4 year olds running around out there with them. Although many residents complained about them, nothing was ever done. They still live there and they still do this. During my stay here, I had quite a few maintenance problems, one of which was my laundry room door. It broke and fell off, hitting my boyfriend in the head. Poor guy. Maintenance came to fix it. Only to mess it up worse. They came to fix it again, and messed it up again. They came over a third time, and I was sleeping. They then bent the hotel type lock (the one that can only be locked and unlocked from the inside) to get in. The fact that someone would even think to do that is sick. Definitely not a safe feeling. Once all of this was done, I decided I would not be renewing my lease. I signed my papers, and promptly moved out, leaving it cleaner then I had received it. I called a few days later asking about my security deposit only to learn that they had no idea I had moved out, had no idea where my papers were stating I was leaving, and planned on charging me extra since I was now on a month to month. I have not received anything. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau. This is the worst experience with an apartment I have ever had. If you want to deal with noisy neighbors, gawking workers, immature staff, and no parking after work or school, then go ahead and sign a lease here. If not, I suggest you find another place, such as I did.
