Apartment complex going downhill
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 12/4/2003
Years at this apartment: 1997 - 2003
I lived in Woodway from 1997 through 2003 (I just stumbled across this website). After reading through the posted reviews, I have to say that I take a negative stance on Woodway, although not as virulent as some reviewers.
The comments about the staff are valid. It seemed like no matter what I requested and no matter how often I requested it, my requests were never met. The staff changes frequently and they seem to never remember anything. I definitely agree the reviewer who wondered if they write things on napkins. I never had a problem with anyone being rude, there was just no follow-through.
The community has also gone downhill. When I first moved in, I was one of the first people in my building. As it filled up, my neighbors were all nice, quiet, respectful people. Towards the end of my time at Woodway, this changed dramatically. I would walk out of my door in the morning and empty beer bottles and cigarette butts would be everywhere. I couldn't sleep at night for all the "2 Fast 2 Furious" mufflers roaring through the parking lot. Fights and drunken screaming were too often the night's entertainment.
All of which disappointed me greatly. I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of my time at Woodway and developed great friendships with neighbors at the pool and basketball court. It was a really beautiful apartment, lots of space, and well laid-out. But the community as a whole was on the decline and I'm glad I left when I did.
