Think twice before moving in....

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
I have been at woodway for almost a year now, and have had so many problems it isn't funny. The first problem began two-three weeks after we moved in. I discovered that there was a leak right outside of my bathroom. The leak had apparently been there even before we moved in, but obviously the cleanup crew didn't do anything about it. There was mold already growing, which explains why I kept getting sick. It didn't take them that long to come and check the leak out, but it did take them about two weeks to fix it.They thought it was coming from the heating/air conditioning unit, so they tore the wall apart for that, then they tore my bathtub apart, along with the wall behind my toilet. The leak had been coming from the apartment next door. The repair crew wouldn't come during normal business hours, they seem to always show up about the time I was getting home from work, which I thought was very inappropriate. Because of the leak we were getting tons of spiders. They would be crawling in the closests, bathrooms, floors, walls, ceilings. Everytime we would kill one, there would be another. I would be afraid to sleep in my bed, fear that there would be one there. I had two fall on me...which freaked me out. We asked the office to come and spray, that didn't help. So, we finally we bought a bomb to set off ourselves and that seem to get rid of the spiders. then we had the maintenance come and fix our dryer hose, because of the lent was going everywhere, and what the guy said is there isn't a whole, but then how is the lent getting everywhere' He just did a half ass job and taped where he thought the whole was. We were also told that we would get start getting a water bill. Since we had never had to pay for water seperately, we didn't know exactly when it would show up. Finally in January 05, I contacted the resident manager twice by phone, and didn't get a call back. Finally I e-mailed the manager and finally received a response. I told her that we hadn't received a bill, and she said she would check it out. She then told me in February that we would receive one in the next 30 days, and in April we still hadn't received one. I contacted her again just a week ago and she said we should receive one with in the next 30 days. We will see! It isn't like I want to have to pay another bill, but I am afraid that when we move out they will try to get us on it, so that is why I have been keeping up with it. We are going into our 10th month and still waiting for the bill. We will see... I think for the price you pay for the apartment, you shouldn't have these many problems. The apartment was built in 96, we have lived in older apartments and have never had these problems. Just remember to really look into what your going to live in before you rent.
