Decent temporary digs

Woodway at Trinity Centre, while nicer than many apartment complexes in the area, does not have any outstanding features to recommend it other than its location. Woodway is located in an industrial park inside the triangle formed by I-66, US 29, and US 28. While this is very convenient for commuting, it also isolates the complex from the rest of Centreville and it is somewhat difficult to walk or bike anywhere from home. Woodway is convenient to a nice state park, a post office, a couple of grocery stores, a large gym, several restaurants of varying interest and quality, and an older but perfectly serviceable movie theater. Woodway is across the street from the largest complex of strip malls I have ever seen, which is convenient, if also depressing. The residents are a mix of commuters, college students, and young families. Woodway has a relatively liberal pet policy; I have a 70-lb dog and a cat. There are dog poop stations around the complex, which are handy and well-used, if inconsistently stocked. The pet fees are exorbitant ($400 nonrefundable deposit, $400 refundable deposit, and $25 per pet per month). The apartments are fairly roomy and well-appointed; the patios are TINY! The gym and pool are nicer than most and I have not had any problems with the office or maintenance staff. Our ice maker took several visits to fix when we moved in, but we have had no other problems with fixtures, appliances or insects. We do occasionally smell cigarette smoke from the neighbors' apartment. We have had two packages stolen from our doorstep; however, I am pretty sure that it was the obnoxious preteen upstairs who took them, and I have had no other safety concerns. The garbage area near our apartment is revolting and I feel certain that nonresidents are coming in to dump their stuff. The landscaping is cheerless and uninspired and the buildings themselves remind me of nothing more than filing cabinets. Woodway is a decent place to live if you need a temporary place while you are exploring the area or saving up for something better. I wouldn't want to live here for very long, though; in fact, I do not plan to renew my lease for a third year.
