I recently toured Woodway as well as several other properties in the area. Overall it looked like a nice place to live. I did NOT choose to rent here for a couple of reasons. After my initial visit there was no follow up from the staff and when I made the attempt to keep the lines of communication going the attitude of the leasing consultant was very placid, as if they could care less if I chose their community or not.

The main reason that I chose not to sign a lease with Woodway was based on another review on this site regarding registered sex offenders living in their complex. I verified this information through the Virginia State Police Sex Offender website and there are indeed TWO registered sex offenders living at Woodway, once of which is deemed "violent."

I do not know the laws or rules that apply to informing potential renters that there are registered sex offenders living in the community, but this was never mentioned during my visit or subsequent inquiries.

I personally would not feel safe knowing that registered sex offenders were my neighbors, possibly living in the same building as me.
