I have lived here for 4 years and I absolutely love this complex. The only reason that I'm moving is to pay down school loans, so I'm sacrificing my comforts for a long commute but lower rent by moving further away from DC.

I am a single woman and live alone, so safety is my biggest concern. I have always felt safe here. I've never seen or heard of any problems, besides the very occasional tenant that plays music too loud. A knock on the door stops that quickly. There was a previous post about sex offenders living here. Obviously reality hasn't set in for this person - there are sex offenders everywhere, so unless you live in a cave, that's just part of living in a busy area like this. Like I said, I don't know of any problems here. My neighbors are friendly, when I actually do see them. Most people in my building keep to themselves.

Parking isn't bad. I usually get a spot right in front of my building unless I come home late at night. There is ample parking, but sometimes you may just have to walk a minute to get to your car.

I live on the first floor, with two floors above me and my apartment faces the parking lot. Occasionally I hear my neighbors upstairs, but you'll find that anywhere. Two years ago I had a family with two young kids above me and I heard them a bit more - the kids were quite rambunctious, so they were probably jumping all over the place. The only noise that irritates me here is when people are loud using the stairs in the breezeway. The sound carries very easily, and you'd swear they were standing in your living room. Other than that, noise has not been an issue.

The staff and maintenance have been great. Everyone that works here lives here too. So maintenance can be at your door in 10 minutes if needed for an emergency. For non-emergency issues, they usually take care of things within one day. Bugs are not a problem (and believe me, it would be a big issue for me if there were bugs here). The complex is very good about spraying outside. When I have had a bug in my apartment, it is either dead or close to it already. I can count on two hands the number of live bugs that I've had to take care of in the 4 years that I've been here! The grounds are beautiful. They keep up with the landscaping well.

These are luxury apartments, so I have 9 foot ceilings, a huge walk-in closet, full size washer and dryer, large bathroom with tons of counter space, patio, storage closet on patio, decent size kitchen with dishwasher, garbage disposal, and pantry, nice carpeting, and a large bedroom. The only thing I don't have that I wish I did is a linen closet. I am in the smaller one-bedroom apartment here and have almost 700 square feet. For one person, that is more than enough room. I am really going to miss this place!

I know that the rent is pricey, but for the peace of mind that I've had here in the last four years, it was well worth it. When I moved in, I searched through every apartment complex in the area. With some, I drove into the parking lot, looked around at the buildings and people, and turned right back around and crossed them off the list of possibilities. Cheaper rent seemed to mean less safety, and that was unacceptable.

There are other amenities here as well, which are all included in the rent: swimming pool, fitness center (just renovated), business office, walking path, basketball court, dog park, tot lots, and grilling areas. Besides the occasional trip to the fitness center, I really haven't used these other amenities, but for families, it's a great thing to have.

I would highly recommend Woodway to anyone, unless they're looking for dirt cheap rent in a bad area. The price is well worth it!
