Nice place to live! - I have lived here two separate times and liked it both times. The complex is close to everything (Barracks, 29, downtown, the Bypass), yet it is quiet and removed. I really like the wooded nature of the property; it's great for walking my dog. I have also had good response from the staff in terms of any maintenance issues. ...Full review of Barracks West

Perfectly adequate and better than most C'ville options - I came to this thread to look at reviews to give myself some perspective as I try to locate a place in New Orleans and keep getting scared off by reviews. I lived at The Woodlands for 3 years while I was in Charlottesville for law school. Basically, the management is not the greatest, but they aren't horrible either. They're not always too bright when it comes to the emails ...Full review of Woodlands of Charlottesville

u could find wayyy wayyy better!!! - DO NOT waste waste your life here. I lived here for two years and at first I had no problems...THEN the management changed. Don't get me wrong, when I first moved in, everyone was so nice and helpful; I really liked the people that worked in the office because they we so genuine and friendly. When the new manager came the nice people started dropping like flies. She yelled at the ...Full review of College Parks

sneaky management, bad parking, - Not only do they consistently raise rent year to year, but they also just started to use a ratio system for billing water & sewage (called rubs) during an economic recession. Each unit does not have its own water meter, so they divide up the bill for the whole complex between tenants by a percentage. Thus when a family of 5 that lives above you uses water like crazy, your single ...Full review of Lakeside Apartments

DON'T DO IT - I'm a second year undergrad transfer who needed a place quick this summer. GrandMarc looked awesome online but it was a horrible decision. I feel like I live in a hotel. The furnishings are beyond uncomfortable, my cable is constantly going in and out, the management is rude and hard to deal with, my dishwasher is constantly breaking, and it's the most overpriced place on ...Full review of GrandMarc at the Corner
