Do not live here--collection agency involved 10 days after bill was postmarked

My wife and I lived at Avemore for a year. While the construction is new and seemed nice, we noticed soon after moving in that things were not built well. The bathtub chipped when a bar of soap fell on it. While this may not seem a big deal, when we moved out Avemore sent us a bill for $150 for the natural wear-and-tear of their poorly-built apartment.
What was even worse was when I started receiving phone calls and getting hassled by a collection agency exactly 10 DAYS AFTER THE BILL FROM AVEMORE WAS POSTMARKED (5 days after I received it!) As someone who reliably pays bills on time I was offended that Avemore would involve a collection agency that can have such negative affects on one's credit after such a short period of time. I called Avemore to inquire about this quick involvement of a collection agency, and was told this is their standard operating procedure.
My strong advice is to save yourself a headache and live elsewhere.
