I moved into the Avemore in May 2008 and am moving in a few weeks. The property itself is pretty, but it is cheaply built. A small one bedroom apartment costs over $1000, and when you go month to month, it goes up by $200. My kitchen sink pipes broke 3 times. I submitted a maintenance order on all, and each time they were only half-way fixed, so by the third time, it actually flooded everything under the sink. When you do make a maintenance request, they show up promptly, just didn't do a good job fixing it well. The upstairs neighbors were extremely noisy, and like someone else noted on their review, the property manager did little to help out. We complained twice, each time they stated they notified the tenants, but nothing ever quieted down. The property is built cheap, so it likely was simply thin walls and floors. During this last month, the rental office misplaced our rent check. We only found out when we inquired as to why our check hadn't cleared, 10 days after the rent was due, and we were notified that we "hadn't paid rent and owed a late fee." We submitted a new rent check for only the true rent amount and 5 days later, they still have not deposited it in the bank. Other than simply feeling annoyed with the cost of living for such shabby service, the Avemore has seemed a safe place to live with a nice pool, pretty grounds, and plenty of parking. If you are looking for a place that simply looks good with a nice parking spot, and you don't care how much it costs, this is it.
